Called it "Kingdom of Generica," and it was full of tropes—the notes we had actually included links to TVTropes.org for the associated tropes. It was based around the "20 Things I Won't Do When I Am Overlord" thing—the BBEG was simply referred to as "The Overlord," and he ruled in Nefaria, had a beautiful-but-sadistic daughter that would fall instantly in love with one of the PCs, and a Grand Vizier named Snivell. There were places like Dwarfmount, Elfwood, etc. The King of Generica was John XVII.

We didn't have a map, though—we were making it up as we went. Right before this blog post, someone posted the Clichea map on our boards, lamenting that it didn't exist at the time.D Raymond Luncefordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06222153848737030542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7817710432110712270.post-54875037599484077382015-05-13T21:11:36.163-04:002015-05-13T21:11:36.163-04:00That's from "Beyond the Black Walnut,&quo...That's from "Beyond the Black Walnut," which is where our (first) dwarf cleric Al Murik got his name.Peter Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14246000382321978462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7817710432110712270.post-71452089280459654192015-05-13T13:33:03.865-04:002015-05-13T13:33:03.865-04:00You darw invoke the wath of Thpageti Thoth? They care about what they can do in it. It's why I like Jeff Rients's Twenty Questions so much: don't create game items that won't affect the game at all.Charles Saegerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00368131505593336249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7817710432110712270.post-28082043931015933332015-05-12T14:57:18.383-04:002015-05-12T14:57:18.383-04:00I linked to it above. And if there are inconsistencies, claim you're doing bricolage in the great structuralist tradition.

(And if your players claim to be post-structuralists, smack them with a hardcover DMG while shouting "Deconstruct this!")Iron Llamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08593249565706623705noreply@blogger.com
