This needs to be split int...- How do you treasure?

This needs to be split into two categories for me, "as a GM" and "as a PC", as they are different....

As a PC, it comes down to my Character, are they Greedy? Charitable? Etc? As the PC they either want to get the most, or their 'proper' share, or they want to help others achieve their needs. And as a Player...

As a Player I strongly prefer the treasure get's divvied out in equal shares. I've been in too many groups where one person ends up with a lion's share because "Its all stuff only so-an-so can use". To that end I strongly prefer the "If you're getting this thing that's more than your share, you owe the group back next time, before you get a cut."

As a GM, my Player preferences strongly bias my treasure rewarding. I try to have enough "liquidable valuables" in the haul to cover all the "non-liquidables", Does this mean the PCs will find all the loot, of course not, that never* happens. But I tried... and I do this when running for groups that don't even care about that.

.* Except when it does, and then the PCs not only grub up every single lucre, but take all the furnishings, dead bodies, and the very stones of the fortress... (No joke, had a group that hated a particular foe so much they relocated the castle while she was dead - because they knew she was reforming somewhere far enough away and they determined they had the time to do so.
