I was just going over some game notes, and came up with a quick list of major and storied items lost in Felltower.
I still need to get the full list of gear lost with Vryce, Hjalmarr, etc. in the depths. But this is a start:
- Gram aka Balmung aka Sigurd's Sword, dragonslaying bastard sword
- Shieldslayer, shield-breaking axe
- Valmar's Sword, a glowing longsword
- Sterick's Plate Armor
- Inquisitor Marco's Mace
- Gem of True Healing
- Iron Ring of Endurance
and I'm pretty sure there are a good six to eight other items that were gained, then lost, in Felltower.
That's a good bit of loot - and most of it in all in one place. Sadly with a beholder and a pile of gargoyles, but it's there.
One day someone will find it and wonder how it got there
ReplyDeleteSo, would it count for XP if they do manage to get down there and get it?
ReplyDeleteI mean, a TPK is a pretty serious barrier to "gaming" the system of finding treasure that has already been found once...
Sure. They'd have to find the stuff and sell it. XP is calculated off of the sale value of loot.
DeleteAh, didnt remember the sell it caveat. That's really how wealth drains out of the system, for xp purposes. Though I think you have said you can't sell something you have already found in a later session to get you over a loot threshold right?
DeleteUsually I wouldn't, but for such powerful magic items? Yeah, you could sell Gram or Shieldslayer or Sterick's Plate for XP, if you really want to. I think it's a short-sighted approach, but I'd allow it.
