That is true. We just have to change their back stories to something more tragic. No happy endings!
All you need to do to do that is look at the original fairy tales. Those were brutal.

Humabout actually that’s the Grimm versions. They revised the stories often making them more violent and less sexual. Or so said the academics when I was researching for my Brothers Grimm GURPS game.So some revision here seems like a good idea.
