I've been impatiently waiting for this milestone:
GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 1 has just sold its 500th copy.
I'd like to thank everyone who purchased a copy. Next stop is 600 copies, which should take a while . . . but I'm hoping each new Dungeon Fantasy book published encourages people to pick up DFM1 as well.
Again, thanks everyone! It's a great start to the day.
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI bought it when it first came out and I think it's one of the better additions to the new GURPS PDF line they are putting out. How many people have screamed for a 'monster manual' for GURPS. Here it is. Congrats and I raise my bagel to the next one hundred sales.
ReplyDeleteThanks, and thanks again for purchasing it. I really need to write up some "how this monster came about" notes here on the blog.
DeleteI afraid I'm a a bit cynical when it comes to monster books because I've been disappointed so many times in the past. (I tend to see the monsters as boring out of context mythological rip-offs or bizarre just for the sake of being "different".)
ReplyDeleteYour book however, was capital-A Awesome!
The write ups were interesting and best of all useful. The monsters had me cackling evilly as I imagined how I could use them. I liked your interpretations of classics like the Lich and the Troll. My favorites are probably the Horde Pygmy and the Gladiator Ape. Awesome I say!
Thanks unknown, I really appreciate it!
DeleteThe Lich was Sean Punch's writeup. The other three you mentioned were mine . . . but I stole the idea for the horde pygmy from Sean, and used them as written in a fantasy game.
