I did a little blog maintenance today.
I updated the DF Campaign page with links to to last 5 sessions, and also a link to the heavier crossbow rules we use.
I further put the equipment/magic item links together offset from the house rules a little bit, for ease of finding them.
Old School informed GURPS Dungeon Fantasy gaming. Basically killing owlbears and taking their stuff, but with 3d6.

Why the low posting rate?
Long story short:
- it's a busy time of year for me
- we're gaming a little more infrequently, and I generally post about game sessions these days
- I'm not doing any game-related writing or reading at the moment
- and while I am playing Skyrim in my free time, it's not really inspiring any posts . . . yet.
But I do have a few things I need to get written out . . . and we will have a game session on 5/31!

Quick note that I added a good number of notes to yesterday's post.

Admin: Disappearing Comments
Just an admin FYI - if your comments disappear or don't show for a while, Blogger is being stupid again.
For whatever reason, numbers of comments are being flagged as spam - even very old comments, even my comments - and won't show up. I don't get a notice but I can go into the spam folder and one by one approve them. Some I have approved before and had re-marked as spam.
No idea why it's being stupid, but here we are. Sorry about that - the downsides of using hosting I don't have to pay for.

Very busy week
This week is my maximal busy time outside of gaming, so I won't be posting much for about a week. Then I'll hopefully be back on a better schedule . . . at least until vacation time and more disruptions the following month.
I will keep posting, even if irregularly. I won't miss any half-assed game summaries for sessions I am able to attend!

Random Thoughts & Links for 5/26/2023
Random stuff for a Friday.
- I'm going to be randomly crushingly busy for a month or so. I should keep up a reasonable posting frequency, but I may miss a day here or there with no warning. Aside from this warning.
- Zenopus Archives has an excellent look at Russ Nicholson's artwork.
- Grognardia talks Space: 1889. I love this setting, and I'd happily run a game in it.
I had a lot of Space:1889 minis, actually, but I think I sold off those boxed sets when I realized I'd probably never get to play a game with them.
- Spelljammer happened after I stopped playing AD&D, but I'll admit it is an interesting idea. Here is a look at the tactical considerations that the setting brings up.
- I backed Doug's Kickstarter.
I went print and PDF, even though I really only need PDF. I like to browse magic items and monsters in print even if I don't need to do so.
- Still playing Planescape: Tormemt (Enhanced Edition). Still fun. Still evil. I'm choosing most of the wreck the world options when given them, but basically I just get evil by asking to get paid to do things and talking about chaos. I get the talking thing - it's Planescape, and belief shapes reality - but being mercenary and greedy doesn't seem that evil. At least there is no squick factor here!
- Dreams in the Lichhouse is posting again. His Black City campaign was awesome, so let's see how his Greyhawk game goes.

Felltower numbering - fixed! Maybe.
Following up on a comment by Periapt Games, I had to go in to my Felltower summaries and do some renumbering.
First, I had to make sure I was only missing the ones I was missing . . . and then go and edit each one to make it right. This took quite a while.
I'm not certain I did it correctly. I believe the numbering should be correct, now, for sessions numbered from 150-177. I didn't check earlier but I don't seem to have missed any sessions earlier.
If anyone wants to take a check, feel free! The html address will be misnumbered - I'm not going to try and fix those if I even can - but the titles and descriptions on My DF Campaign page should work fine now!

Google forms question
Does anyone know how to create a nested question in Google Forms?
One of those where, if the person chooses YES, it opens a followup?
I've looked but the answer I've found just confused me a bit.
And yes, we're going to use a Google Form to figure out who wants to do what rules-wise.
If I get sufficienty skilled at framing questions I'll probably do that for a future delving area, too.

No more ads
So, I'm kicking AdSense and Amazon ads to the curb from this blog. I'm not sure what will replace them, but I decided I don't really love them around anymore. So they're gone.
I'll probably still post affiliate links from Amazon.com, but I just don't want ad banners up.

Random Thoughts & Links for 11/4/2022
- This post is a nice look at AD&D potion creation.
- I don't love D4 HP thieves and race-as-class, but I do think Basic D&D has a lot to recommend it. So does this post.
B/X and the Perfecation of OD&D
- I received an email for my DCC #100 Kickstarter. I'm looking forward to seeing that one in person.
- Not a lot else. I have some blog-admin issues to deal with, but I'll detail them once I've gotten further along down the road.

Felltower Current Status
Felltower is currently in a summer hiatus.
We're mid-delve, so we're needing at least a certain number of players, and certain players, to get anything done.
We're also in the middle of crucial decisions, as outlined here - Felltower Status.
The problem is that this summer is especially bad for gaming. We have:
- one player moving
- one player just moved, still dealing with issues at the previous place
- one player missing in action for a few weeks on a trip (well, one GM, anyway)
- two players with exaggerated work situations
- and then just the standard summer plans and difficulties.
So we can't play for the meantime. That sucks, because generally this is a good time to get some extra gaming in. But circumstances have consipired against us. I hope to get in some GMing of something, even if I only have a few players who can play. Or playing of something.
But while Felltower will return*, it'll be a bit.
* In THUNDERBALL!
Well, maybe not.

Photobucket hosting ending
This is an admin note for the blog. A lot of my old posts have Photobucket picture links. Sadly, Photobucket is offering me a chance to either upgrade to a paid account, or delete my account, because I use it as photo hosting.
I'm going to let them delete it.
I can't easily go back and find all of the posts, identify the pictures in them, and replace them.
That said, as I go back and see old posts, I will try to do so. I would like to keep my blog looking nice. But expect a lot of broken links, especially in the early days o the blog. I apologize for that and I will fix them on an ad hoc basis. I will simply use Google in the meantime.

Random Old Stuff for 12/10/2021
Random old stuff for 12/10/2021
- Hurrah! I got this email from GMT Games:
Yay!
Now I get to watch a different web page for updates, this one:
P500
- Acoup has finally posted the next part of his "Fortifications" post series.
- I'm busily finishing the game of X-Com: Apocalypse I started a few years ago. I accidentally blew up most of a Marsec building and now they're my sworn enemies. Oh well. But I'm wiping out the Alien Dimension one building at a time. I'm enjoying the process.
- I'm away this weekend (intensive instructor training) - so you may see a post on Sunday for Felltower, but it depends heavily on my Sunday.
- I need to do a Top 10 myself, but here you go:
My Top 10 D&D Adventures of the Golden Age (Part I)
My Top 10 D&D Adventures of the Golden Age (Part II)
See you guys Monday, probably!
