Which gate, narrowed down

My players have decided they want to take their PCs through a gate. Probably. Maybe. But which one?

At this point, the vote seems to be one of the gates they discovered this past session at the end of a marble hall, dubbed either "the Mable Gate" or "the Meepos Gate."

Because the players see a connection to Meepos, at least one player wants to find and hire the Meeposian Brothers and bring them along for their expertise and guidance when they reach their homeland.

Does it in fact go there?

No one knows.

No one can afford a scroll of Scry Gate (and if they could, it's special order, and it's too close to delve day to get it in time.) No one can cast Scry Gate either. So it'll be a blind jump into the gate. Even with that spell they wouldn't necessarily know where the gate comes out.

This will be the third deliberate passage through a gate that I recall in this game . . . unless Plan B kicks in on Sunday.

  1. This group certainly has issues with sticking with Plan A from time to time, BUT in fairness, Felltower has a way of throwing things at adventurers that make the "let's go explore this area" component of Plan A difficult to do. That's not a complaint! But it is a "living dungeon," and from time to time, powerful inhabitants have forced the party to abandon Plan A. Of course, shiny things have resulted in abandoning Plan A, as well as "ooh, what is this all about?" type of observations. So there's a good percentage that it's character (or player) curiosity/ADHD, and a good percentage of "just because you want to explore area X doesn't mean Felltower will let you!"

    1. I witness more ADHD than forced course changes, at least from my side of the screen's perspective.

  2. But insofar as the Marble Hall Gate (possibly Meepos Gate) is concerned, the group simply has no idea what lies beyond unless Dryst shows up. Since money is tight for most of the group, it's time to take chances! (Maybe it's always time to take chances...)
